There is now an exciting opportunity to join Place Design Group in Shenzhen to lead the management and development of our office. The Office Principal role is responsible for the leadership of the office through the provision of strategy and advice to clients, financial management and performance of the team, and for the delivery of high-quality outcomes for clients and for projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Within the China market, Place Design Group has developed a reputation for delivering commercially focused solutions, diverse in character and aesthetics, and unique to site. This role will lead the team to secure and deliver projects of excellence across the residential design market, hotels and resorts, commercial, health and public realm.
On a day to day basis this role will take responsibility for project delivery and providing leadership across the office. A demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and creatively communicate ideas and design principles with a strong attention to detail will be advantageous. You will be working broadly on:
Oversee office financial performance

Along with your strong design industry knowledge and experience, you will have a deep seeded client relationship philosophy, and experience working in a similar role within a consultancy firm.
We are looking for someone who has exceptional client relationships, strong team and project management capabilities, and thrives in a design environment.
You will be driven, committed and client focused. You will be able to balance priorities and look to drive project design and financial outcomes, whilst developing an exceptional team.
- Tertiary qualification in landscape architecture
- Min. 10 year’s industry experience
- Experience in a managerial role
- Creative leadership and application of strategy combined with the ability to offer practical solutions
- Significant experience with project management
- Expertise in contract management and financial management
- Strong relationship building expertise
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- High level organisation and planning skills
- Strong industry awareness and participation
- Bilingual – working command of English
